American Eagle Airlines adjust their hiring minimums

June 23, 2011- American Eagle Airlines announced that they have adjusted their current hiring minimums. AE expects to hire 670 pilots in 2011, and more in 2012.

Deadline approaching for May aircraft registrations

July 31, 2011- Pilots whose aircraft were registered in May of any year must apply for re-registration by July 31 to submit online. As part of an effort to update its aircraft registry, the FAA is requiring pilots to re-register their aircraft on a specific schedule.

OPA Fly Away to Gainesville, February 13th

Challenge Air needs volunteer pilots for annual "Fly Day"

November 7, 2008- Challenge Air for Kids and Friends is a non profit organization whose mission is to inspire, motivate, and empower physically handicapped and seriously ill children through aviation. On November 15, 2008, they will host the annual "Fly Day" at Wiley Post Airport

OPA Aviation Scholarship

October 22, 2008- The Oklahoma Pilots Association has announced the Vic Jackson Memorial Aviation Scholarship for young men or women seeking aviation careers.

FAA Changes Medical Duration

July 24, 2008- The FAA has lengthened the duration of 1st and 3rd class medical certificates for pilots under the age of 40.
