FAA Changes Medical Duration

July 24, 2008- The FAA has lengthened the duration of 1st and 3rd class medical certificates for pilots under the age of 40. As
of July 24, 2008 the First Class Medical Certificate will be extended to one
year duration (12  calendar mos), and the Third Class Medical Certificate will be lengthened to 5 years (60 calendar mos). The duration of medicals for those over 40 will not change. See the official FAA update for more information.
